Dragon Metal News for April!

Yay for Q2 of the 2026 Fiscal Year! Quarterly Earnings and Engagement and Synergies! Shareholder Value! Other things, probably!

Anyway.

Bad news. The Dragon Metal Book 4 release date is being pushed back to June, 2027.

I know. I’m disappointed too. The book itself is ready, but we need room for marketing and such leading up to the release. So…I am sorry.

But, the good news is, ummm…

Book 5 is still in progress in the meantime, so there shouldn’t be much of a gap between 4 and 5. I promise this will not turn into a George R.R. Martin/Winds of Winter Situation.

In other news:

  • The new cover image for the new printing of Dragon Metal Book 3 is finished! Image below, by @Kajuart on Instagram. The cover itself should be done by the end of the month, with listings updated accordingly.

  • I bought a BUNCH of philosophy books to prepare themes for Book 5. Albert Camus,  Paul Tillich…to give you an idea of what I have in mind in terms of themes and such.

  • Did I already let you know the first line of Chapter 1 in Book 4? I may not have, here it is: “The heart monitor flatlined.” But, wait. Book 4 starts with a prologue! The first for a Dragon Metal book. You are excited, I can tell. This is the first line of the prologue: “Lagren never tired of viewing the Fountain of Time in Washington Park, especially at night.”

Here is a Book 4 spoiler without context:

What does it mean? I don’t know, because I haven’t picked the image yet, I am writing this in a Google Doc while watching Caravan of Garbage, which you can find on Youtube.

Anywho, on to the part no one reads: Other Stuff - More Stuff!

What am I reading: Spawn! I have been on a Spawn kick. Exciting time for Spawn news, too, as Michael Rosenberg is taking over Spawn and King Spawn this summer! He had an interview with Near Mint Condition earlier this week (go follow Near Mint Condition on Youtube and sign up for the Near Mont Condition Patreon and Discord; great group for collectors of collected editions, youtube.com/NearMintCondition).

Rosenberg said a few interesting things:

  • The main Spawn title will be “superhero” ish, and King Spawn will lean more towards horror.

  • There will be a one-year time gap and a mystery to solve.

  • Spawn’s new bad guys are called the 400!

Anyway, I am excited for Spawn.

What am I gaming: I still haven’t finished Resident Evil Requiem, there is no time, because I have to do stuff like this -_-

What am I watching: …have I watched anything worth mentioning recently? The Weekly Planet/Caravan of Garbage guys have their own Patreon at bigsandwich.co/, where they have movie commentaries that are a bunch of fun. Watched the Spawn one recently, it was quite good (the commentary…not-so-much the movie).

Anyway, I’m tired and cranky and etcetera, so I am going to wrap this up. Be sure to keep an eye on the Hidden Track for all the wonderful bonus content.

If you are reading this on my website I also have a substack with the exact same stuff...but on Substack: https://thejmichaelwhite.substack.com/

If you are reading this on substack, I also have a website with the exact same stuff: dragon-metal.com

Yay for content and engagement and blah blah blah!

That’s all, I’m gonna go now.

End Blog
